TOUCH A LIFE

Did you know that many girls and women in our IDP camps use rags for their periods every month😱😱.
I found out and my heart wept!😭😭
Some even go to dustbins to pick up used sanitary towels (pads), wash, and use them again…Painful! 😭But we can do something about it.💡💡

Some NGOs give free condoms to boys but not enough attention is given to the girl-child and women generally in this regard.

It’s my birthday on this Sunday, 23rd February, and I would like to reach our female teenagers and women in IDP camps with the word of God and REUSABLE SANITARY TOWELS which they can use for an entire year.

I know the project is a little capital intensive for me…so this is where YOU, my friend, brother, sister, cousin, relative, even ‘beefer’ (😋)..can come in.

I hope your heart will be touched as mine was, to not just shake your head and say ‘It is well ooo’ but to do something definite towards this😁 .

The cost of the 1 year Reusable Pad alone, is N1,800 but the cost to put a pack together containing the reusable sanitary Pad and food for soul and spirit (Rhapsody of Realities and a Lunch meal) is a total of N2,500 per person.

I would like to distribute a minimum of 200 packs … BUT if we get more HALLELUJAH!!!!!👍🏼💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 That’s more impact! 😁😁
Proposed Date for the distribution however is February 29th, 2020.

Please do these for me as a BIRTHDAY GIFT 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳.
I would sincerely appreciate these above material things.

Kindly share your details so I can get my thanks across to you after participation, as well as send you pictures and reports/feedback of everything, by filling this simple form below👇🏽

Once you the form is filled, more information will be provided on how you can participate.

Please feel free to also rebroadcast to your own friends who may also be passionate about this cause like I am.

Thank you so much and God bless you.

Have a perfect day filled with Blessings and Miraculous interventions of the Heavenly on your behalf.

Disposable sanitary pads, napkins, towels, and tampons are products that women have to buy every month. However, until a few years ago, the true cost of using these products was unknown to most women. These were simply sanitary products of convenience that you could throw away after use. Now the true cost of these products can be seen in our pockets, environment and health.

Here, we will explain why you should dump your disposable feminine hygiene products for reusable sanitary products instead.

You will save money
Almost every woman has to buy sanitary products every month. Depending on where you live and what brand of sanitary products you buy, the cost could be cheap or expensive.

In Nigeria, the price of pads range from ₦250 to ₦900 and tampons cost even more. Hence, the cost of an involuntary bodily function is on the high side.

However, when you buy reusable sanitary products, you will not need to repurchase them for months. With proper use and care, cloth pads and menstrual cups can last for a year or more.

You will be saving the environment
One main problem with disposable sanitary products like tampons and pads is that they do not decompose easily. Disposable sanitary products will remain in the environment for hundreds of years.

Burning pads is also harmful as gases will be released into the atmosphere.

Some feminine hygiene brands make an organic and degradable sanitary pad, but these products cost more.

Alternatively, if you buy a cloth pad or menstrual cup, you will be able to reuse them. Every time you wash and reuse a sanitary product, you are reducing the amount of waste in the environment.

Ease of use
One reason why people resist using disposable sanitary products is that they believe that using them is difficult and this is not the case. Admittedly, using reusable sanitary materials may require new knowledge, but it is not difficult.

Menstrual cups are tricky to use but once you learn how to use it, it is worth the price.

You can wear cloth pads like regular disposable pads. Some women find the process of washing these reusable pads difficult, but there are many tutorials that will teach you how to care for your reusable pads.

Comfort
Many makers of sanitary products pride themselves on having comfortable products that are barely noticeable. However, some women experience chafing and vaginal irritation from the top fabric of the sanitary pad.

Disposable sanitary pads, though, are considerably more comfortable because they are made with fabrics like wool, flannel or fleece. The fabrics are soft and do not irritate the vaginal region.

Menstrual cups are comfortable as well. Most users of the menstrual cup state that the cup is barely noticeable after it is placed in the vagina. In addition, menstrual cups can be folded two to four times for easy insertion and use.

Spiritual safety
In Nigeria, there is an increase in the occurrence of people being caught picking used sanitary products for fetish purposes.

Understandably, this may not be an issue in other countries. But, if you live in Nigeria and the safety of your disposed sanitary products is an issue, you can switch to reusable sanitary products.

By using reusable sanitary pads and cups, you will not worry about what happens to your disposed feminine hygiene products.

Easy to acquire
Like disposable sanitary products, reusable sanitary products are easy to acquire in Nigeria. You can buy menstrual cups and reusable pads from many online stores.

If you are unable to buy cloth pads, you can make yours easily. With a sewing pattern, a sewing machine and your choice of fabric, you can make your own customized, comfortable and effective reusable pad.

Health reasons
Some women who use reusable pads and cups state that their periods have either become less painful or less heavy. Some sanitary product makers add fragrances to the pads to eliminate smells and dioxin to bleach the cotton to a white color. The fragrance and other chemicals used on disposable pads can cause health and fertility problems.

However, not all women experience positive changes to their menstrual cycle when they start using reusable pads and cups. Still, You can try switching to reusable sanitary products and see if there is a change.
